1. Summary

AeroTrack EFB is an electronic flight bag app for iPad and iPhone. It is built to work with as little data collection as the app can get away with: there is no account to create, no advertising identifier, and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK in the app. Location, and optionally motion and local-network data, are used to run the moving map and traffic display — not to build a profile of you.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Location

With your permission, the app reads device location — including in the background while the screen is off — to show your aircraft's position on the moving map, compute groundspeed and track, and drive navigation fields like cross-track error and time en route. Location is processed on your device to render the map and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

2.2 Motion and barometric data

On devices with a barometer, the app reads ambient pressure to display pressure altitude and cabin altitude. This stays on the device.

2.3 Local network (ADS-B receivers)

If you connect a compatible ADS-B receiver (such as a Stratux), the app listens on your local Wi-Fi network for GDL-90 traffic and weather broadcasts. This is a local connection to hardware you control; we do not receive this data.

2.4 Chart and data downloads

Chart tiles, airport data updates, and similar aeronautical content are served from our backend infrastructure. Fetching this content necessarily discloses your IP address and basic request metadata (which region or chart pack you requested, and when) to our hosting provider, in the same way any web request does. We do not tie these requests to an account or an advertising identifier, because the app does not have either today.

2.5 Subscriptions, if and when introduced

If AeroTrack EFB introduces a paid subscription, purchases will be handled by Apple's StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment card details — Apple processes the transaction and shares with us only what is necessary to verify entitlement, such as a signed transaction receipt.

2.6 What we do not collect

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not collect contacts, photos, browsing history, or data from other apps. We do not sell personal information.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share data only with the infrastructure providers that run our backend (currently Cloudflare, for content delivery, storage, and request handling) under their standard processing terms, and where required by law.

5. Where data lives

Your flight plans, saved aircraft, weight-and-balance profiles, and downloaded chart packs are stored locally on your device. Backend infrastructure for chart and data delivery is operated on Cloudflare's network. We do not currently operate a user account system or a server-side database of personal profiles.

6. Third-party data sources

Aeronautical and weather data displayed in the app originates from public US government sources, including the FAA's National Airspace System Resources (NASR) subscription, FAA Aeronautical Information Services, the FAA NOTAM API, tfr.faa.gov, and aviationweather.gov. Use of these sources is governed by their own public-domain terms. This policy covers data AeroTrack collects about you — it does not change the terms under which the FAA or NOAA publish their own data.

7. Retention and deletion

Data stored on your device — flight plans, aircraft profiles, downloaded charts — remains until you delete it or delete the app. Server-side request logs tied to content delivery are retained only as long as needed for security and reliability, then rotated out in the ordinary course of infrastructure operation.

8. Children's privacy

AeroTrack EFB is a professional and recreational aviation tool. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

9. Your choices

Location, local network, and motion permissions are all controlled from iOS Settings and can be revoked at any time; features that depend on them will stop working accordingly. You can delete all locally stored app data by removing the app from your device.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before or as they take effect.
